Why have a wedding night when you can have a wedding weekend?! Brittland Estate is located in the historic Chestertown area of Maryland's Eastern Shore. When you rent this venue, you get access to the Manor House, pool, and gardens for the entire weekend. Most couples host their rehearsal dinners here too and the house sleeps 30, so immediate family and the bridal parties can stay on site. It’s such a fun weekend getaway!
Chelsea and Ryan’s color palette was cream, peach, and toffee with subtle hints of blue to complement her gown and the bridesmaid’s pale blue dresses. I used peonies, toffee roses, ranunculus, lisianthus, tweedia, and light blue sweet peas from Two Boots farm in her bouquet. Her bridesmaids carried petite bouquets in the same flowers and colors. Chelsea’s keywords to describe her wedding were: romantic, natural, effortless, timeless, with no boho (same girl, same).
The ceremony was under a tree which we draped in silk fabric and green garland. Then we placed ground arrangements at the ends of the aisle to welcome the guests to the space.
Cocktail hour was poolside with whimsical bud vases on hightops. Next was the tented reception. We added a floral accent to the tent entry and alternated floral compote centerpieces with candles and bud vases. With fun floral moments on the bar, welcome sign, and dessert table. If you look close enough, you may be able to see some blueberry foliage with berries still on the vine. A fun twist on a pop of blue.
This wedding featured one of my all-time favorite cakes from Peony and Meringue. I gave them a selection of fresh blooms and they created the most stunning cake topper. Swoon! We soon learned that we both live in the same town and have collaborated on many weddings and projects since. You will not be remiss with this dream team!
