Intimate Wedding at Home Overlooking the Chesapeake Bay

This wedding! I love all of my weddings, but this one is my personal favorite. Chic, romantic, intimate and sophisticated. A dinner party at home, with vows in the backyard. Perfection. By going small with the guest list, this wedding went big on thoughtful details.

This wedding! I love all of my weddings, but this one is my personal favorite. Chic, romantic, intimate and sophisticated. A dinner party at home, with vows in the backyard. Perfection. By going small with the guest list, this wedding went big on thoughtful details.

The picturesque setting of the bride’s family's backyard became the background for an intimate wedding celebration that encapsulated sophistication and warmth. Bride Lauren was radiant in her light pink off-the-shoulder Monique Lhuillier gown. To compliment her stunning dress, we opted for a simple and whimsical bouquet of butterfly ranunculus, Queen Ann’s lace, and cheery chamomile blooms in white as to not compete with the colorful gown. Lauren carried her bouquet through the backyard and down a set of stone stairs which opened up to the ceremony set in front of the water of the Chesapeake Bay. Antique baskets and market-style straw bags from her Grandmother’s collection were overflowing with blooms of lush hydrangeas, romantic roses, sweet smelling peonies, and chamomile. Set in a semi-circle, the installation created a nest around Lauren and Daniel which wove a tale of timeless elegance and sentimental value.

Following the ceremony, guests were welcomed to the back porch for custom cocktails and music while enjoying the waterfront view. We decorated the bar with free-flowing and organic arrangements in rustic pots and accented the cocktail tables with dancing floral arrangements and glowing votive candles.

The reception unfolded within the lovingly decorated house, where tables were dedicated with alternating lush compote and petite potted arrangements, and complimented with butter-yellow and peach taper candles and amber glass votives. The arrangements included the best of late spring- hellebores, lilacs, roses, ranunculus, and lisianthus in colors of rose pink, white, cream, and light green.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the wedding party transitioned seamlessly into a night filled with enchantment. With music drifting through the air, the newlyweds led the way to the dance floor under a sailcloth tent, decorated with green tree branches, inviting guests to join in a celebration of love and joy.
