An outdoor winter wedding with multiple tents planned in six weeks? We got you. When wedding planner Kara Hinchcliff of Nouvelle Events approached us with this wedding mere weeks away, we were all in and got straight to work.

Tent installation for this wedding began over a week in advance. Once the main black frame reception tent was up, we sent a crew and a scissor lift to the venue to begin installing the smliax vines in the ceiling before the flooring went down and chandeliers and draping went up. With weddings of this size, it’s a dance to coordinate it all, and Kara managed it beautifully.

To guard against the cold weather, the ceremony was in a clear top tent, which allowed for unobstructed water views. We lined the aisles with floral meadows that extended up the round platform and highlighted the lush arch. We created six-foot-tall magnolia trees and placed them on velvet-draped pillars to create a grand ceremony entrance. Following the vows, groom Brian surprised his wife with confetti as they recessed.

Following the ceremony, guests entered the extraordinary black frame tent. The front third of the tent was partitioned off with luxurious blush silk drapery to create the cocktail space. Guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres while finding their seating assignment on the oversized escort display housing candles. The wedding occurred on El Día de las Velitas (Day of the Little Candles), which the wedding celebrated to honor the bride’s Colombian heritage. We set up lanterns outside the tent, which VIP guests lit to honor the day.

After cocktail hour, the drapes were pulled back to reveal the grand reception. Tables were lined with abundant floral arrangements, romantic candles, and accented with fruit. Custom magnolia trees created dramatic focal points on the corner tables. Smilax vines accented the ceiling and oversized chandeliers.

After the wow reception reveal, guests were entertained by an aerialist, professional dancers, a fire eater, and ended with an elaborate fireworks display. A night to remember!
