Lush Romance at The Baltimore Museum of Art
This stunner of a wedding was romantic, modern, and I’ll say it.... sexy! Getting married in an art museum is inherently sophisticated and fun- Night at the Museum anyone? And this wedding served that in spades. Guests were able to visit the art and installations while celebrating the bride and groom. To compliment the art, we kept the palette classic white and green and turned up the texture, movement, and whimsy.

Anna’s bridal bouquet featured fluffy white blooms including garden roses, ranunculus, hellebore, limelight hydrangea, and spray roses- timeless yet whimsical and playful. The bridesmaids carried petite versions of the bridal bouquet, with white peonies and lilac.
We started designing the ceremony outside in the courtyard. However, a jazz festival in a nearby park turned their volume up so loud, we were forced inside. (Seriously, it was unbearably loud feedback- not music) Since the ceremony design was just about finished, photographer Nikki grabbed the couple and did a few photos before we relocated the arch inside. We were bummed they missed out on their outdoor ceremony, but thrilled they still got the photos and a few moments to enjoy it in the sunshine. The arch was a whimsical combination of roses, chamomile, larkspur, and Queen Ann’s lace. Floral ground meadows lined both sides of the aisle.
Next, the candle-lit reception featured two lush and garden-y centerpiece designs. For the long tables, we created floral meadows of majolica spray roses, orlaya, queen ann’s lace, astilbe, sweet pea, and chamomile. These arrangements sprawled down the table, alternating with candles. The round tables were adorned with a low and lush compote arrangement featuring ranunculus, roses, astilbe, chamomile, and peonies. Complimented by taper and pillar candles, amber ribbed votives, and clear ribbed votives which created a romantic candle-lit reception in the BMA. Small pin frog arrangements were spread around the reception with white calla lilies on the cocktail tables.
A lush ground floral meadow, featuring white florals and greenery nested around the sweetheart table, with taper candles and ribbed votives creating a reception focal point for the newlyweds.
The BMA has these fabulous alcoves so we decided to highlight one and feature the cake in it. We repurposed the floral arch from the ceremony and added loads of candles to create a striking moment for the cake cutting.
