JESS AND CHRIS

Moody Neutrals at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club

This wedding from 2020 is one of my favorites for so many reasons. First, Jess and Chris are high school sweethearts! Second, they got married at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club and did a warm color palette. Most people opt for white with pops of blue- pretty, but we can have more fun than that! Third, Jess was ahead of the time with the colors and textures she choose- apricot, deep magenta, velvet touches, and her maids in oyster and champagne silk gowns.

This wedding is also a great example of a plan B, C… D… working out better than originally planned. This wedding was in the fall of 2020 and we had a lot of restrictions, plus it rained! But it worked out beautifully. We moved the ceremony indoors in the light-filled room with Bay views. We built a deconstructed arch with fluffy grasses, oak branches, cafe au lait dahlias, toffee, and barista roses.

Jess and her maids carried bouquets of roses, dahlias, ranunculus, and dried golden ferns in shades of cream, blush, apricot, and tan with pops of deep magenta. The three words to describe the wedding vibe were: romantic, whimsical, and creative. Jess wanted details that felt special. We accomplished this through her custom arch with textured grasses, raspberries still on the vine in the centerpieces, and dried golden fern from a specialty shop in California.

Ok, there’s one more reason I love this wedding- because Megan Harris shot it! She is just a master at true-to-life color, fine-art photography. Many of these images look like film, but they are all digital. We partnered up to do some extra special flat lays with dried hydrangea petals and ceramic dishes from Terrian and silk ribbons to house their details, vow books, and invitation suite. Bravo, Megan!

I like to say I was born to be a hair artist! My favorite toys as a little girl were velcro rollers, brushes and unplugged curling irons! Through my school age years I was the go to stylist for all of my friends before our fun nights out. After highschool I went to cosmetology school and officially started doing hair in 2007 in my hometown of Louisville, KY.

After two years behind the chair in Louisville I craved MORE!! So I packed up my life and relocated to the beautiful city of Chicago! I have called Chicago home ever since! After moving I immersed myself into continuing education taking classes in NYC, Vegas, California more! My love for extensions started with tape-ins and eventually evolved to hand tied hair extensions.

I now offer a variety of hand tied hair extension methods with my favorites being Natural Beaded Rows and ManeLuxe Method.

When I am not at the salon you will find me caring for my rowdy two year old son and my dog, Tuck, and my cat, Dottie.
