Modern Lux At The Maryland Golf and Country Club
Angela and Shawn said “I do” at the Maryland Golf and Country Club in Bel Air, Maryland overlooking the 9th hole on a gorgeous fall day. Angela envisioned a modern and luxurious wedding with nontraditional concepts. Her three words were sleek, unique, and understated. This was a tall order for this traditional venue, but not to worry with Christine McFarlane Events as the planner, they completely transformed the space!

Angela wore a sleek white gown with long sleeves and modern lace details, finished with a long cathedral veil. We opted for a lush bouquet with a king protea, orchids, roses, and ranunculus– no greens! Her bridesmaids wore mix-match style black dresses and carried bouquets of roses, ranunculus, dahlias, and dried ferns. Shawn wore a white tux jacket and his groomsmen wore tuxes. Love this white jacket trend!
The ceremony took place on a patio overlooking the 9th hole of the golf course. We created oversized arrangements in urns and placed them on tall white pillars, accented with smaller ground arrangements. The aisle began with ground arrangements as well. Post-ceremony, we repurposed the ceremony arrangements around the cake table and in front of the sweetheart table. A benefit of a lush ceremony is there are lots of arrangements to repurpose in the reception.
Christine McFarlane Events really outdid themselves with this reception. The space was completely transformed. They pipe and draped all of the walls in luxurious fabric and brought in custom black tables with ghost chairs. They also brought in a stage, dance floor, and bar to create this vision. The centerpieces were a mixture of low compotes, bud vases, pillar, taper, and votive candles.
The sweetheart table was clear acrylic. We added modern bud vases and candles. After the ceremony, we added the ground arrangements too. Peony and Meringue made a two-tier cake and added flowers, bunny tail puffs, and dried palm leaves to accent.
