Modern Wedding at The Mt. Washington Mill Dye House

Adriane and Matt dreamed of an industrial chic wedding vibe with high impact and elegant sophistication. We kept the palette neutral with black, ivory, and champagne with gold and silver accents. Adriane was very inspired by the architecture and aesthetic of Soho NYC. When I hoped on our consultation call, I had just been in Soho the day before so the timing was kismet! The Mt. Washington Mill Dye House is perfect for this vibe with its industrial details and natural lighting.

A waterfront venue with a tented reception, need I say more? Marie and Torsen’s wedding at Brittland Estate was the perfect summer soiree. We used a romantic palette in white, toffee, quicksand, and tan with subtle hints of blue flowers including quick fire hydrangeas, toffee roses, ranunculus, lisianthus, and light blue tweedia to reflect the hues of late summer on the water.

Adriane carried a modern and simple bouquet of white roses. I reflexed some of the petals back to give them that modern lux look. Her bridesmaids stunned in black satin dresses and carried smaller reflexed white rose bouquets. Reflexed roses are popular in Australian weddings and have just begun becoming popular here.

The ceremony featured a deconstructed arch with roses, anthurium, hydrangea, larkspur, and branches. We placed modern white floral arrangements on clear acrylic pillars at the start of the aisle with white candles. Pre-ceremony a smudge ritual was performed on the space.

After the ceremony, we flipped the space and the ceremony room became the dining space. We repurposed the arch and welcome arrangements to the head table. The head table also housed a luxurious display of white pillar candles, mono arrangements of reflexed roses, mini phalaenopsis orchids, anthurium, and gold and silver metallic votives. Complemented by textural linens, gold flatware, a chic menu, and cute little flower seed packets as favors.

Guest tables were adorned with lush floral compote arrangements and modern bud vases, with lots of candles of course! Above were bistro cafe lights creating a romantic ambiance. I love this simple and modern look with little to no greenery- the flowers really shine! Such a great complement to this modern space.
